I have been working with Lisa for the past three years, currently two classes a week. Lisa ensures that all of her students are well trained in the basics of Pilates, including proper breathing, alignment and the muscular benefits of the exercises. As students increase in their proficiency she encourages them to understand the intricacies of each exercise. She is very aware of her students’ idiosyncrasies and ensures their individual exercise programs provide maximum benefit for any physical issues they are dealing with. As well, while certain classic Pilates routines are adhered to, her classes are always changing with new exercises introduced or ways of doing each exercise refined. What I am looking for from my Pilates program is the strength, energy and confidence to accomplish my jobs as a full time artist, active gardener, mother and now grandmother. Lisa's thoughtful instruction and interest in her students' wellbeing has helped me to achieve these goals.

Even after several years of taking pilates classes, I learned something new about my body through Lisa’s work on body alignment. I have been doing Pilates with Lisa for almost 2 years on a fairly regular basis. The UBC sport specialist I consult with for my bad knee had told me that Pilates would be helpful in reinforcing my core strength, knee strength and in reducing some coccyx issues I had developed after a post colorectal surgery. Lisa has been working with me with these 3 areas of weakness (spine/tailbone/knees). As a bonus, she specializes in working with Scoliosis, a condition that I also have. Lisa is always cheerful, prompt in answering any request by email and very accommodating with my schedule. She is very knowledgeable with the body’s anatomy. Each private class is varied and the hour always goes by very quickly. Lisa works with me in addressing my different aches, pains and injuries. I have made good improvement with the pain level in the tailbone area and I attribute it to my sessions with Lisa. She really cares about my recovery.
