Scoliosis correction in prone
I love how the center line of this young woman's shirt parallels the side to side curves of her scoliotic spine. The thickest side of the blue wedge sits underneath of her left rib cage to bring those ribs away from the mat and closer to neutral. The same with the right wedge peeking out from underneath of her right hip, as this hip likes to sit forward. There is a small lift under her right armpit to try and bring that shoulder back in line with the other one. With the addition of a few other corrections, lots of breathing and strengthening will then be done in this position so that her entire body both recognizes and is able to hold this position for longer and longer periods of time. Deceptively easy, this is a great deal of work!!
